The programme is managed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.feeitalia.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Foundation for Environmental Education<\/a> (FEE), a non-profit organisation based in Denmark, and is awarded annually on a global level.<\/p><p>The main areas covered by the Blue Flag programme include:<\/p><ol><li><p><strong>Beaches:<\/strong>\u00a0Blue Flag beaches are characterised by clean water, sustainable management of natural resources, accessibility for all, and adequate sanitation and safety.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Marinas:<\/strong>\u00a0Marinas can also be awarded the Blue Flag if they demonstrate high standards in terms of environmental management, boat safety, services and the promotion of sustainable
