Discover the wonders of the La Maddalena Archipelago! The motor ship departs daily from the port of Santa Teresa Gallura and makes an evocative navigation in the area of the Bocche di Bonifacio and then reaches the most beautiful coves and coastlines of the Archipelago.

Visiting the beauty of the La Maddalena Archipelago by boat will be an experience you will always carry with you! With the motorboats of the Consorzio delle Bocche you can admire and bathe in unspoiled territory. With the motorboats, we can dock at the jetties on the beaches of St. Maria and Spargi through the help of footbridges.

For years a vast sea area of about 20,000 hectares and its seven main islands: La Maddalena, Caprera, Budelli, Santo Stefano, Santa Maria, Spargi, and Razzoli are part of the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park, which actively preserves the marine and terrestrial environment.

We will also take a closer look at the Spiaggia Rosa one of the symbols of the Park, a wonder of nature, whose myth was also extolled and made immortal by Michelangelo Antonioni’s famous film Deserto Rosso.

Meet at the Port of Santa Teresa Gallura

The meeting is at the ticket office of the Consorzio delle Bocche on the Santa Teresa Gallura harbor.
In August be sure to arrive at boarding at 08:00; in other months boarding starts at 08:15.

Departure towards Budelli

Depart from the port of Santa Teresa Gallura and sail in the direction of Budelli.
While sailing, the white cliffs of Bonifacio and the breathtaking panorama of the north coast of Sardinia and the south coast of Corsica can be seen in the distance.

Panoramic view Spiaggia Rosa

On Budelli Island we will be able to see the legendary Spiaggia Rosa, one of the most beautiful in the world! It owes its name to the color of the sand, which is rich in tiny fragments of bryozoan skeletons, coral, granite, shells and mollusk shells. The spectacular coloration is due to a pink-colored microorganism that ‘inhabits’ Posidonia oceanica seagrass beds. When it dies, the shells are washed ashore, breaking up by the action of water and wind. To protect this very fragile ecosystem, no boats have been allowed to anchor or swim since 1998.

Santa Maria island beach stop

Most of the islands and islets in the Archipelago are uninhabited. St. Mary’s Island, on the other hand, is home to about 20 dwellings frequented mainly in the summertime. We will go down to the beach by mooring at the adjacent pier conveniently with the boardwalk, and you can sunbathe and swim in crystal clear waters.

Panoramic view Mantle of Our Lady

We will continue sailing and pass in front of one of the most famous points of interest in the archipelago: the Manto della Madonna or Madonna Harbor. This area is so named because it is considered a safe harbor in almost any wind. The incredible blue of this stretch of sea takes your breath away: a true unspoiled natural pool with a shallow and transparent seabed. Absolutely a must-see!

Lunch stop

Stop for lunch where you will be served at the table. The Commandant will choose the most suitable place for lunch break depending on the marine weather conditions.

La Maddalena city stop *

We will land in the marina of La Maddalena where you can visit this small town. The close-knit old town is filled with ice cream parlors and shopping stores.

Spargi beach stop *

Stop for a swim at Spargi Cala Corsara beach, another incredible bay to admire and visit.
17:00

Navigation and re-entry

On the return voyage to Santa Teresa Gallura you can admire the beauty of the views of the north coast of Sardinia including Punta Falcone, the Marmorata with its Islet of Seagulls, the forts of the Ferrero Battery, and the exciting entrance to the fjord of Santa Teresa di Gallura.
17:00

*The stops may be reversed depending on the regulations of the Maddalena Park Authority.
